Rapid Prototype Design – Week 5 (Voice)


This week, we were tasked with creating a game or app relating to the theme of ‘voice’. This had to be the dominant feature of the product and couldn’t be an additional feature of said product.

Immediately after hearing the theme was ‘Voice’ I had an idea for a game straight away. The idea would be based around a voice that would be attached to an object the player would need to be picked up in order to play a factor in the game (eg points or key). Since I already have a grass tileset, I had the idea of creating a topdown 2D game where the player would need to listen to the ‘voice’ of something (possibly birds) in order to find a hidden object around the map. As the player got closer to the object they would need, the sound would get louder. However, in order to prevent the player from just stumbling upon the object, it would need to be either invisible or near impossible to see. With a game idea in mind, I decided to briefly start my level creation within Unity.
